Openly gay Dallas candidate to seek office again - July 1, 2008

Openly gay former Dallas City Councilman Ed Oakley has come almost full circle after losing last year's mayor's race in a runoff. "The day after the race, all I could think about was getting away on vacation," Oakley said. Money pours into Calif. gay marriage campaigns - July 1, 2008

SACRAMENTO - Backers of Proposition 8, a November ballot initiative that would amend California's constitution to ban same-sex marriage, had, as of last week, raised nearly $2.3 million while foes had raised about $1.3 million.
