Comments for Below The Beltway

I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Comment on George Herbert Hoover Bush by tfr - September 22, 2008

Something I hope we're all doing this morning... Dear congressperson Please do not rubber-stamp the biggest swindle in the history of the world. Vote against the Bush $700bil bailout. One of the proper functions of government is to protect the citizens from those who would do them violence, be it physical or economic. This bailout is the most obvious, blatant attempt at transfer of wealth from the taxpayers to private corporations ever perpetrated. Again, please vote AGAINST this...

Comment on Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae: Just The Beginning by Charles - September 21, 2008

Democrats created the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac problems years ago, in a well intentioned but failed effort to allow low income groups to buy houses. They stopped ALL eforts at reform until it was too late. Now they are trying to blame Bush, McCain and Republicans, everyone but themselves. That's the Gods truth and here is the proof: http:strategicthought-charles77.blogspot.com200809democrats-created-fannie-mae-and.html

Comment on George Herbert Hoover Bush by D.J. McGuire - September 20, 2008

There is a deeper irony here. Hoover, the fellow who "stood by and did nothing," actually caused further damage with a dramatic income tax increase and the great tariff disaster of Smoot-Hawley.

Comment on The Bush Administration Embraces Socialism by media kingdom - September 20, 2008

yep, a few more steps 'til the U.S. becomes completely socialist, then it's smooth sailing from there on out

Comment on Happy Constitution Day by James Young - September 17, 2008

Maybe if we made this a national holiday, and scrapped Labor Day (a political payoff, in any case). 'Course, it would have the advantage of extending summer by an average of two weeks....

Comment on Adviser: McCain Helped Create The Blackberry by static brain - September 17, 2008

That is just about as stupid as "McCain Uses Walter Reed Middle School, Not Walter Reed Army Hospital as Backdrop" when he was talking about disabled vets. What an idiot. With Walter Reed Army Medical center for Veterans in shambles... McCain uses photo of Walter Reed Middle School in California for backdrop. I guess the idiots in the RNC are trying to outdo the themselves in grandiose levels of stupidity, proving without a doubt, they really are unintelligent.

Comment on Adviser: McCain Helped Create The Blackberry by Doc sedenteanimo.com - September 17, 2008

Ironically, tomorrow, the Obama campaign will issue ad saying there was no way McCain could invent the Blackberry given the limited range of motion in his arms.

Comment on Virginia: McCain 48 Obama 48 by J. Scott - September 16, 2008

Attention needs to paid to the defense area in this election. McCain's people have to make the case to the people that Alter of Freedom is making today regarding the preservation of the defense budget and spending that impacts the Virginia economy. Obama has pledge to cut defense spending in areas of missile systems, combat systems, surface ships etc. Check out www.alteroffreedom.blogspot for this line of attack.

Comment on Okay, Ill Admit It, The New Sitemeter Sucks by Nicholas - September 16, 2008

I was expecting problems with the upgrade, but I was pretty much unable to get online all weekend, and on Monday I was too busy to check. When I finally got to look at the stats page, I wondered what the heck all the screaming had been about . . . it looked totally unchanged from when I last looked at it. Now I know why. ;-)
