Comment on Bought a House You Cant Afford Cry Me a River by Adrienne - September 21, 2008

Picture this. You have a great job and your husband has a great job. You're doing so well that you decide to buy a house, nothing ridiculous, just something big enough to raise a family in. You move in and get settled and become pregnant. Your pregnancy progresses and your doctor notices some abnormalities. Your put on bed-rest and have to quit your job and follow up with your doc three times a week for tests, expensive ones. Meanwhile, your husband is laid off from work and can only find a job.

Comment on Little Girls Who Dress Like Skanks Grow Up to Be Women Who Dress Like Skanks by matt - September 19, 2008

Almost all of the girls didnt even know what the 'pink' on the butt of the clothes really means. But back in highschool seeing girls wearing mini-skirts and stuff like that didnt bother me a whole lot. If a person wants to dress some way, let them. Don't turn into Hitler and began shouting at people what they can or cannot do. It's about freedom and the only people who are complianing are the ones who just think to much into it. Kinda of like the people who think video games are...

Comment on Should Religion Be Part of Your Brand by Ayn Elise - September 12, 2008

I have a question. Is it as much that the business is making it part of their brandingmessage or branding their entire company ON it To that end, if that is the market and the audience, then it makes some sense. But not a wise choice in that it "can " limit future growth, in my opionion. If they want to market to all, then it makes no sense in branding and branding messages unless they segement and market differently to different target market's and demographics. Even my second propostion..

Comment on Higher Education May Not Be a Requirement for Business Success, but Basic Education Is by Alicia, Mental Health Notes - September 12, 2008

Accurately assessing a student's...intelligence (I guess, for lack of better word right now - I guess I could say "academic abilities," "information retention," or something like that, as well) is a tricky business at best. A teacher could have a genius sitting in hisher classroom, but never know it (or have proof of it) if the kid doesn't complete assignments, doesn't really try on tests, etc. I guess one of the things Dallas is saying they're trying to do (by all this mention of "fair") is...

Comment on Pimped Out Politics: Is It OK If She Likes It by Alicia, Mental Health Notes - September 12, 2008

Wow, what a great conversation going on! I agree with several of the commenters above (and gina's comment soundsreads eerily as if it could have come straight from my mouthfingertips), and don't really have anything different to add to it. But, wrapping up, the "pimping" analogy is an interesting one, and not one that's too far fetched, I think. Especially given Palin's seemingly less-than-ambitious goals regarding vice-presidential candidacy (before she was picked, that is). After reading...
