Measurement of Individual Loudness Functions by Trisection of Loudness Ranges. - September 28, 2008

A loudness trisection method of measuring individual loudness functions from loudness judgments was tested on 9 normal-hearing subjects over the 40-80 dB SPL range. The average difference between these data and the loudness function defined by the accepted equations relating loudness and SPL for normal listeners (e.g. ANSI Standard S3.20-1973) was 0.78 dB ignoring sign; the standard deviation of the measurements was approximately 1 dB, compared to 6-8 dB in other studies. Personality and Perception of Tinnitus. - September 28, 2008

We interviewed a large general population birth cohort about tinnitus, and assessed their personalities using the Multidimensional Personality Questionnaire. People with tinnitus were more socially withdrawn, stress reactive, alienated, and less Self-Controlled than those without. Amongst people who reported tinnitus, those who were more socially withdrawn, stress reactive, and alienated found their tinnitus more distressing. Interaural Time Discrimination of Envelopes Carried on High-Frequency Tones as a Function of Level and Interaural Carrier Mismatch. - (Found September 28, 2008 )

Transmission Pathways of Vibratory Stimulation as Measured by Subjective Thresholds and Distortion-Product Otoacoustic Emissions. - September 28, 2008
