Today (Friday) I spent more time there around 10:30, checking sky and trees, with no luck. I stopped by around 9:45 and the juvenile was perched in the dead branches of the Siberian Elm. It flew out and caught a Monarch and ate it. The dead elm tree in which the adults often perched has fallen down, probably related to the wet conditions over the weekend. She saw the adult kites feeding the juvenile for a while, then all 3 flew up and began circling together to the southwest.
