Wired announced that 630,000 laptops are lost at airports each year. In the United States no other destinations are included. This is absolutely nuts. Where are these laptops going There arent that many hot laptops for sale ever. Also, if the lost computers were going to other countries, would we not have heard something by now It is 630,000 each year. That number could keep several small nations outfitted with all the computing they need until its time for a battery replacement. from Wired.

New Names on the U.S. Women's Soccer Team - July 1, 2008

The U.S. Women's Soccer team that will go to the Olympics in Beijing will be missing some familiar names. The new head coach, Pia Sundhage, has made some personnel decisions. Some choices were forced by injury and circumstance. Kristine Lilly will be missing from the team going to Beijing. She is taking some family time, with a baby on its way. Google AdSense Going Away - July 1, 2008

Whoop! Without any notice of change, Google announces this - Due to reasons unknown, the AdSense referral program is being retired at the end of August. Its unclear how popular the referral program actually was, but its safe to assume it wasnt a huge money-maker for Google. In their official announcement, they alluded to their reasoning behind retiring the program.
