A game where you create and guide a new species through the ages, "evolving" them by adding and modifying bodyparts like some kind of demented god seemed a bit ludicrous. But having played with the newly released Creature editor I must say this game might actually be quite fun to play when the full version is released. Since iCab 3 is based on Webkit, the Safari engine, its failures in the area of performance, look-and-feel and standards compliance have all but disappeared. True, the old iCab had some distinct advantages, such as rendering nested <q> elements differently, but overall the improvements have been far far greater than the disadvantages one hardly ever notices. Last week we learned that Apple would finally release the iPhone for Dutch consumption and I'm horribly tempted to get one. I just went to the city to get my dad a present for his birthday and while in the liquor shop I saw a bottle of 17 year old Balvenie Islay Wood. This is a whisky that's extremely hard to come by (it was only produced in 2001) and when my good friend Joke got one I was almost consumed by jealousy.
