Apples in Stereo at Emo's - (Found July 5, 2008 )

Last night I saw Apples in Stereo and Apollo Sunshine at Emo's. Apples in Stereo were great, but I didn't know they were that old. I've seen a few late bloomers recently; the last one was Guided by Voices. Old rockers give me hope. Apollo Sunshine were also really good. They closed the set with an R Kelly cover. How cool is that

Haven't had time or energy to post anything in a while becuase I've been working on things about which I may eventually write. Two songs, Icarus and Four Letter Word. With vocals even. A new weblog, cricketschirping.com. That's where Rhyme Time will be hosted. And I really need to move this pile o' crap over to moveable type at some point. Four Letter Word - (Found July 5, 2008 )

Here's one of the songs I've been working on. Four Letter Word. (2mb) The lyrics are short and sweet: I've been looking forward Forward to you and a four letter word The voicemail recording is a message that Brian left for me the weekend before last. He's singing "I like to wash myself, wash myself, wash myself", which is itself an impersonation of Marc who sang that the night before after a poker game. So there you go.

I would write more lately but just like it is with music, it's all about the notes you don't play. I saw on the news the other day that my alma mater, NMT, is purchasing a town for anti-terrorism research. Ooooooookay. It's like the party van is always seven years behind me. When I was there it was lame. Or maybe that was just because I was there.

I've been meaning to mention this for a while, but check out Travis' photo log:Images of Asia It's incredible. Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Kyoto, Tokyo- really you should take a look at what he brought back for us. And now he's off to a bunch of National Parks here in the states. He makes me feel like a slacker even when he's on vacation.

Google searches for which I expected more results: sharerrorism (0) IP interests vs. file sharing, "news media as a filter" vs. blogging, the war on terrorism some kind of connection between them all "creative commons top 10" (0) The creative commons should have a top 10 list of works traded on filesharing networks that are available under a CC license. They could rank it by tracking files with embedded CC metadata "michael jackson's assasins" (0) just because it rhymes and I figured some.
