Alot of fish that were in the hatchery are dropping back. These Steelhead can be found on the gravel trying to spawn. The hungry dropbacks are in the heads of pools and faster moving current along the seams and edges. Forecast for the weekend is calling for T-storms and warmer temps. Water temperature is 47 and the water level is at 750 cfs til Friday midnight, looks like 500-600 cfs. With the drop in water is will go higher faster. The forecast is calling for cooler temps mid week , this should help stretch it out some. Still a few left over spawners on the gravel, look for fish to be in the fastest water possible now. They will need all the oxygen they can get. I will update this for another week. Recent water level changes and water temperature changes have put the fish off the bite. River fishing has been really tough, with one trout being a good day. Everyone knew it wouldn't last long once the water went down for a few days and extremely heavy fishing pressure last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Lake fishing for Brown Trout is really good right now along the shoreline. We found fish over the weekend in the heads of pools and some fish still around the gravel area's in the mid section. The water temp was 52 degrees in the am and the flow is 750 CFS. Fishing should be good for a week or so depending on water temp. This will be my final report til next season. I will add any news on the river over the summer. The day started of slow but we managed to save the day in one spot.
