Things seemed to pick up in lower end of the river today compaered to Sat & Sun.  The action was fair over the last few days, with a good size pod of fish in the mid-section of the river.  Sunday there were 6-7 driftboats launched in Altmar (hint), so you know some where up top the was a fair number of fish around from the high water.  The forecast for mid week is call for perfect fishing conditions cloudy with some rain coming, Another big run comingWater temp: 67Water...

September 2, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

The water level has come down to 750 CFS til Sunday midnight.  There should be a good movement of fish for the weekend and a good number of fish in the river for this time of the year.  Fish will be spreadout above town.  The boat traffic in the estuary will be heavy this weekend, this could cut down on the number of fish entering the lower river.  I still have a few open dates for Salmon, Sept 11, 25, 26 Oct 9 just opened back up, Oct 16 & 17.  Call or e-mail...

SURF'S UP!!!!I'm Not used to saying this in August, its a spring  thing.  Due to heavy rains they are dumping water from the dam.  This surge of water will pull fish in from the lake that are out in the 50-150 foot depth's that are starting to get out of the tempature they are used too.  Fishing should be hot after this, be prepared.

August 28, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

Fishing remains about the same as all week, a few fish have been entering the river daily.  The water temp has jumped up to 76 degrees, with this please take the extra time to revieve the fish in the warm water.  Lake Captains I have been talking to are doing really well, in the am they are trolling right out of the mouth and getting them.  The majority of the fish are in 50 foot range.  They have been seeing alot of fish out of temp in the lake, this means they are..

August 22, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

Fishing remains the same as yesterday. A small number of fish entered the river and with a small number of anglers fishing it makes for a good day. Water temp is in the low 60's, which is really good for this time of year. Just goes to show we haven't had much of a summer. I will update when the fishing picks up.  I still have some open dates for Salmon season, Prime Steelhead dates are filling up along with Brown Trout trips out to the west, these dates are very limited and will go...

Salmon Season Opener. - (Found July 5, 2008 )

Today the DSR opened for the season,  When we arrived mid morning and started walking the lower end It was great  to see the splashing of Salmon coming toward me.  We saw maybe a dozen fish on the move in the lower section and saw a few others landed.  The water temp was 66 degrees, thats a good sign for the early fish that have entered the river.Don't forget to click on Salmon, Steelhead and Trout pics on the home page for more info on each type of fish.

September 15, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

The Number of fresh fish entering the river the past few days has slowed.  Fishing the rest of the river overall has been steady for this time of year.  The lower Fly Section is now open with a good mix of Salmon, Steelhead and occasional Atlantic Salmon mixed in. The Charter Captains on the lake are hitting good numbers of fish right out of the mouth of the river to about 50' of water.   These fish are ready to move into the river at anytime, look for the...
