Family Meat Pie - July 7, 2008

I love pies, but I'm always concerned aboout what is actually in the pre-packaged ones. So I came up with this, and every now and then I make up a huge batch of this meat filling, and make a family sized pie for dinner, and a whole batch of single serve pies for the freezer. If you prefer a chunkier meat pue, use 500g diced beef, instead -- posted by Sara 76

Long Island Lemonade - July 7, 2008

Tastes like... Looks like... but feels better than a lemonade on a summer evening. I came up with this mix when I didn't have all the stuff for a true long island (sour mix and coke). Its my favorite now. Enjoy and let me know what you think. -- posted by xDAVEx

I love peanut butter and I love dark chocolate so one morning I thought, what if I add chocolate to my peanut butter sandwich. Later I added the rest. -- posted by Ginivee

Creole Daube - July 5, 2008

As old as the swamps in Louisiana, this recipe predates the title pot roast! This is the most wonderful tasting pot roast you'll ever try. Worth every minute of the work! I have such fond memories of my grandmother creating this magic in her kitchen and her entire house filled with the heavenly aroma. For the Creole seasoning, I use Emeril's with half the salt. -- posted by Trinkets

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars - July 3, 2008

These are soooo delicious! You can use milk chocolate chips but I prefer semi-sweet. They are very rich so cut them in smaller pieces. They are very easy to make but at the end, you need some muscle to get it all mixed properly. Well worth the work out. -- posted by kbcountrymom

Creamy White Bean Soup - July 2, 2008

A recipe adapted from frugalabundance.com, my ultimate budget cooking site. It has saved me in a tight spot many a time. Great served with garlic bread for dunking. -- posted by peachy_pie
