Weyerhaeuser enters into an agreement with Cosmopolis Pulp Mill - February 28, 2007

Weyerhaeuser Company has announced that it intends to enter into preliminaryformal purchase discussions with Evergreen PulpGrays Harbor PUD to buy the Washington based Cosmopolis Pulp Mill. The proposal offered by Evergreen PulpGrays Harbor PUD offered assurance that sustained operations could be resumed at the mill, while offering appropriate sales value to Weyerhaeuser. The offer was competitive and Weyerhaeuser is hopeful that further discussions will lead to a definitive purchase and sales.

Metso Paper to supply TMP system - February 28, 2007

Metso Paper has announced that they will supply a thermo-mechanical pulping (TMP) system to Inland Empire Paper Company. The delivery is scheduled for completion in 2009. The new TMP system will replace the mill's pulping systems installed. The project will significantly reduce Inland Empire Paper Company's current dependence on natural gas to dry its paper products. Inland Empire Paper Company manufactures high-quality newsprint and specialty paper products in Millwood.
