Thanks for the last 5 12 years, rootarcana. It's been real.http://www.rootarcana.com/blog/archives/2007/07/the_last_chapter_of.php A series of big announcements.- July 18, 2007 As promised, I've got a few big announcements to make today. Here they go: Big announcement 1: Changing webhosts. I've been hosting with Linksky since some time in 2002, whenever it was that I finally got fed up with Iowa State's stipped-down servers. However, that's about to change. CollegeBuddy Quinn and I are going in together on a (mt) Media Temple account. I have no major gripes with Linksky... I just feel like I've outgrown them. I need more databases, and faster servers. I have...http://www.rootarcana.com/blog/archives/2007/07/a_series_of_big_anno.php Diet update: Week 6- July 18, 2007 Six weeks down, probably six more or so to go. Truth be told, I'm a little proud of myself. I've updated my spreadsheet thinger every single day for the last 40-plus. And more importantly, I've been generally honest when calculating my intake, exercise, et cetera. Who knew Excel could be such a fantastic motivator :) Weight (716): 188 pounds, or 2.5 lighter than I was a week before, or right on schedule according to my aims. It feels good to be under 190 - getting on the scale each morning is..http://www.rootarcana.com/blog/archives/2007/07/diet_update_week_6.php A Victim of 9 Crimes- July 11, 2007 So I have decided that, as of today, I am a fan of Damien Rice. Why, asks thou Well, I've loved "The Blower's Daughter" for a really long time now. So long, in fact, that I've been convinced it must be a cover of some older song, cause I could've sworn I've liked this song since high school. I've even debated this fact with people, along the lines of: "Who sung The Blower's Daughter" "Umm... Damien Rice, I think." "No no... I mean the original singer." "I think he was the original...http://www.rootarcana.com/blog/archives/2007/07/crime_10_appealing_t.php My Buddy and Me- July 10, 2007 So I've recently decided that I want a scooter. A Buddy 125 (125cc) by the Genuine Scooter Company of Chicago, to be exact. I've been considering getting a scooter ever since I moved to Des Moines and realized how feasible it'd be. So I did a lot of research and decided the Buddy should be the object of my idolatry. Why a scooter Well, I live a 10-minute drive from work, which could just as easily be a 10-minute scooter ride, seeing as how there are no major highways involved. I rarely exceed..http://www.rootarcana.com/blog/archives/2007/07/my_buddy_and_me.php Diet update: week 5- July 10, 2007 I'ma keep this brief, because I'm hoping to blog about other things later in the day. Also, I missed a week, so this post summarizes both weeks. Weight (79): 190.5 pounds, or 8 pounds lighter than I was two weeks ago. That seems a little high, but I think a lot of the weight I had two weeks ago was water retention and so forth. I've been hovering just above the 190-mark for a couple of days now. The good news is, that means I'm roughly halfway through my diet, as I'm currently shooting for 175.http://www.rootarcana.com/blog/archives/2007/07/diet_update_week_5.php Seattle: The Generally Brief Writeup- July 6, 2007 Well, perhaps I was a bit ambitious when I said I'd blog the next day. Next day, next weekmonth... whatever. It's all pretty much the same. So here's my promised Seattle writeup, but it's almost time to go home for the day, so it's going to be pretty short and generally not funny (much like Eric). Wednesday (trip-out-day): I got to the airport around 10:30am. I was through security and at my gate by 10:45. Gotta love a sparsely populated airport (Des Moines International (they fly to Canada,..http://www.rootarcana.com/blog/archives/2007/07/seattle_the_generall.php |
