Kode 9 at Sonotheque - July 7, 2008

I&8217;ve had a hard time wrapping my head around dubstep. At its best, it is alien and spooky. At its worst, it&8217;s an unholy alliance between mid-nineties jungle and eighties Miami bass. Craig Loftis at Green Dolphin Street - July 4, 2008

Last night long-time house producer Craig Loftis played a lengthy set for no cover at Green Dolphin Street, a Chicago jazz club. (Although only Frankie Knuckles was billed, he was a no-show.) The crowd was diverse, but mostly older and dressed to the nines. (Undoubtedly many of the same people will attend tomorrow&8217;s Chosen Few Picnic.)
