50% Containment on the Lane 2 Crown King Fire -Prescott eNews - July 5, 2008

When Tony Scaccia, Incident Commander for the Lane 2 Crown King fire, spoke at the first community meeting for Crown King residents, the one thing he wished for was the monsoonal rain. Well, today Scaccia got his wish, because by 6 pm today, rain had poured over about half of the fire. This was terrific news for the weary firefighters. It doesn't entirely extinguish the fire, but it sure helps! The hope is that as the evening wears on, more rain will fall, covering the rest of the fire.
