Libraries are cool again LISNews.com dkowalcz shared This One from the May 12th Edmonton Journal that says The Internet was actually supposed to make libraries obsolete. It didn't Wendy Newman, president of the Canadian Library Association, blames seniors, kids and everyone in between. Modern retirees, says Newman, are healthy, energetic and actively engaged in the pursuit of hobbies, many of which require considerable knowledge. The library, says Newman, is where many do their research.

The book features Jack Ryan's son and his two cousins, working for a secret government counter-terrorist unit, as they take on a coalition of a Muslim terrorist and a Colombian drug dealer. A Rising Rock Star! La Grange Park native and library user Kyle Andrews has 3 of his songs available on MP3.com:  "Inspirational Action Figures"; "talk to me" ; and "defective" .  Hopefully this is the beginning of a long music career for Kyle. There is a free registration required to listen to the songs.
