I noted that I had a sore throat and chills Thursday morning when I drove down here; the sore throat and chills have continued, to be joined by sneezing, coughing and a mild fever. Additionally, though unrelated, my acid reflux came back with a vengeance last night, and I slept fitfully at my sister's house, and the burning has continued off and on all day. Otherwise, though, the day went reasonably well, though it's..http://www.elfintech.com/reflection/archives/2004/12/25/19.54.37/index.html christmas vacation 03- (Found July 15, 2008 ) Along with so many others, I've spent the Christmas holidays sick. In the previous two entries, I wrote about feeling sick Thursday through Saturday, and my hope that I would shake it off by Sunday. I didn't. In fact, after another horrible night Saturday of practically no sleep (even in a comfortable bed at my mom's house), due to the cough from the coldsinus infection and the bouts of acid reflux, I didn't even get up until noon on Sunday, and then mostly just moved back and forth between...http://www.elfintech.com/reflection/archives/2004/12/27/21.45.07/index.html hack cough sniffle sniffle bleagh- (Found July 15, 2008 ) After thinking Monday morning that my cold had crested, as the day wore on I began to feel worse, and Tuesday morning it was clear that I wasn't going to be able to function at work, so I called in sick. This morning I woke up feeling not a lot better, but concerned about taking any more time off, so I medicated myself and went in. The place was dead; almost all of the students took leave this week, and my inbox--normally overfull and over quota after only a day or two away--had only a dozen or.http://www.elfintech.com/reflection/archives/2004/12/29/21.58.18/index.html happy new year 2005- (Found July 15, 2008 ) It's day 11 of my winter cold. Unlike all but four hours of last week I feel well enough to be back in the office today and, better still, unlike those other four hours that I was in the office last week, I'm well enough to be reasonably productive today. I'm still congested and a little achy, retain an intermittent cough, and sound like Marge Simpson's sisters, but I'm fairly hopeful I'm in the last few days of this virus's grip. And I am feeling much better, if not completely well. We spent..http://www.elfintech.com/reflection/archives/2005/01/03/12.32.36/index.html ch-ch-ch-changes- (Found July 15, 2008 ) In the next few days, you'll see a fresh new face on elf-reflection. Behind the scenes, I've already upgraded Movable Type to 3.14; at the same time, though, I've decided to bring a new visual design to the site. The new index page is largely done (preview), but I still need to apply the new style to the archives and comments and change some of the sidebar layouts and included items. I'll also be doing away with the separate serendipity and sputnik boxes in favor of integrating all my...http://www.elfintech.com/reflection/archives/2005/01/12/13.12.17/index.html |
