McCain staff asked for protester's ouster - "He was simply trying to uphold the policy." - (Found July 15, 2008 )

It was Sen. John McCain's staff who asked security at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts to remove people holding protest signs at the venue not U.S. Secret Service agents, who were not involved in Carol Kreck's ouster from the galleria. A video of the incident circulating widely on the Internet shows a DCPA security guard saying that he was told by the Secret Service to remove Kreck, who was holding a paper sign that said "McCain = Bush."

Former Bush spokesman Tony Snow dies of cancer - (Found July 15, 2008 )

Fox News is reporting that conservative commentator and former White House press secretary Tony Snow has died of cancer. Snow, 53, was a broadcaster for Fox News Channel and Fox News Radio when he replaced Scott McClellan as President Bush's press secretary in May 2006.

Administration disavows its own global warming report - (Found July 15, 2008 )

Today, the EPA published its response to the April 2007 Supreme Court ruling in Massachusetts v. EPA which mandated that the agency determine whether greenhouse gases pose a threat to public health listing various ways to control emissions. In letters attached to the document, however, administration officials disavowed the documents conclusions. The Wall Street Journal reports:

US Terrorism Watch List Tops 1 Million - (Found July 15, 2008 )

A U.S. watch list of terrorism suspects has passed 1 million records, corresponding to about 400,000 people, and a leading civil rights group said on Monday the number was far too high to be effective. The Bush administration disagreed and called the list one of the most effective tools implemented after the September 11 hijacked plane attacks when a federal no-fly list contained just 16 people considered threats to aviation.
