Wal-Mart Interested in Two Locations in East Hartford - May 10, 2008

Wal-Mart has been looking at two potential locations in East Hartford for a new store. The retailer plans to relocate its present Manchester store to a larger location. A location in South Windsor near Evergreen Walk had also been under consideration, until town officials indicated that they did not want a large retailer located in that area of town.

Man Faces Drug Charges After SW Traffic Stop - May 7, 2008

A 29-year-old East Hartford man was arrested on numerous drug charges Tuesday after a police officer pulled his car over at the Four Corners and seized bags of cocaine weighing about 10 grams, marijuana, a scale and $1,900 in cash, police said.

SW Firm Receives Large Order For Zero-Emission Buses - May 7, 2008

The largest ever procurement in the United States of fuel cell power systems for public transport buses was announced at the American Public Transportation Association's (APTA) annual bus conference in Austin, Texas. AC Transit of Oakland, CA has agreed to purchase a minimum of eight fuel cell systems from UTC Power of South Windsor, CT, with options for an additional 13 units, to power AC Transit's next-generation hybrid-electric, fuel cell buses.

Brothers Acquitted In SW Assault - May 7, 2008

Two brothers who were accused of playing roles in a 2006 attack on a teen with a metal pipe in South Windsor were acquitted Tuesday. A jury in Superior Court in Manchester found Ha Van Tran, 19, and his brother, Hai Van Tran, 20, not guilty of charges of accessory to second-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon, said their lawyer.
