Swimming discouraged at 21 Huntington beaches - July 25, 2008

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services has issued an advisory against bathing at 63 beaches, including 21 in the Town of Huntington, because of problems with stormwater runoff.

Volunteers clean up Huntington beaches - July 7, 2008

An estimated 60-75 volunteers, many of them from scout troops, showed up at several Town of Huntington beaches Monday for the third annual cleanup as part of National Clean Beaches Week. Beaches cleaned included Crab Meadow, Gold Star Battalion, Scudder, AsharokenSteers, HobartSand City, Crescent, West Neck and Centerport.
