The council, which represents big game hunters and licensed big game hunting outfitters, determines the criteria used in setting the market value of FWP's outfitter-sponsored license and recommends a license fee to the FWP Commission for their approval.http://fwp.state.mt.us/news/article_6927.aspx Wolf Found Dead in Suce Creek Area- June 20, 2008 FWP personnel retrieved a dead wolf from the Suce Creek area in the Paradise Valley south of Livingston on June 13. The female wolf was from the Mission Creek Pack. The wolf had been missing from the pack for about a year. The carcass showed signs of severe mange and the wolf most likely died of natural causes.http://fwp.state.mt.us/news/article_6926.aspx FWP Commission Closes Portion Of Yellowstone River Near Livingston To All Recreation- June 20, 2008 Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commissioners today closed about a 12-mile stretch of the Yellowstone River between Carter's Bridge Fishing Access Site, south of Livingston, and the Highway 89 Bridge Fishing Access Site, north of Livingston, to all recreational activity due to flood conditions on the river.http://fwp.state.mt.us/news/article_6929.aspx Conrad Man Guilty of Trespassing on Sun River WMA- June 19, 2008 A Conrad man was fined $535 for criminal trespass on the Sun River Wildlife Management Area in March nearly two months before the WMA opened May 15 to the general public. Jamey Linn, 40, was also sentenced, June 6, by Lewis and County Justice of the Peace Wally Jewell to pay Fish, Wildlife and Parks $250 restitution.http://fwp.state.mt.us/news/article_6922.aspx Pheasants and the Weather- June 19, 2008 The recent spate of cold, wet weather has lots of hunters wondering what happened to north central Montanas pheasant hatch. I think that this could be a year when production is down a little bit, says Gary Olson, Fish, Wildlife and Parks wildlife biologist.
