Summer Session Classes Preview - May 12, 2008

Summer session classes can help students stay on track to graduating in time. Various majors offer an abundance of electives and interesting classes, which keeps students interested during the summer break. "I am hoping to knock off a couple of courses this summer so I can get out," said Michelle Norwood, a Liberal Studies major at Cal State Fullerton.

Fired American studies professor refuses to sign campus 'loyalty oath' - May 12, 2008

Upon being hired to teach at Cal State Fullerton, all employees are subject to sign a "loyalty oath" within their contracts in order to show their support of the California and U.S. constitution. American studies lecturer Wendy Gonaver however, a Quaker and a pacifist, refused to sign the oath last August on the grounds that it violates her religious freedom and First Amendment right.

Economic projections for 2008 look dim - May 12, 2008

Cal State Fullerton economists Anil Puri and Mira Farka have made revisions to the 2008 economic forecast, predicting job losses locally in Orange County and throughout the nation. About 300 guests from the Orange County business community attended the biannual economic forecast conference held at the Irvine Hyatt, where Puri and Farka discussed current and future economic issues at a local and national level.
