DOA DVR - (Found June 24, 2008 )

Well, we killed our first DVR. After less than 3 months use the hard drive failed and will no longer respond. All we get is an error stating "There may be a problem with your hard drive. Please call Technical Support." We took it in this morning and exchanged it for another new one. The only inconvenience was losing the 2 weeks of TV shows I was behind on. Darn it. I hadn't thought of it before, but from now on I'll be using our second DVR as a backup in case this happens again. .

Lunar Eclipse - (Found June 24, 2008 )

The moblog images are the originals, this one is slightly enhanced and sharpened. For a nice animation of the eclipse and more information about it from NASA, click here.

You can check out their article, but I'll give you the details here, since I think this is a great idea--I know it'll cure a lot of MY headaches! What these two alternative programs do is replace RealPlayer and Quicktime with simple player alternatives using the same codecs and dll libraries that these video files require. Do you ever get those annoying messages every...

Obbie Bock and IHOP - (Found June 24, 2008 )

Kevin and I watched Terminator 3 today. (Sure he's only 5, but with a few fast zaps of the remote at just the right times I can turn that baby into a PG movie on-the-fly!) He asked me a few times during the movie about "Obbie Bock"--"Dad, is Obbie Bock dead now" and "Is Obbie Bock hurt" After thinking about this a little I finally figured out what he was saying and then it made complete sense. I kept saying to myself "obbie bock" "obbie bock", then it hit me. He was referring to Arnold's...
