Boeing Achieves 787 Power On. - June 21, 2008

EVERETT, Wash.: The Boeing Company NYSE:BA has completed the Power On sequence for the first 787 Dreamliner, marking the completion of the next major milestone on the path to first flight later this year. Power On is a complex series of tasks and tests that bring electrical power onto the airplane and begin to exercise the use of the electrical systems. The 787 is a more-electric airplane with the pneumatic, or bleed air, system being totally replaced by electronics.

Four Killed in Helicopter Crash. - June 21, 2008

An EU peacekeeping helicopter belonging to the Spanish military has crashed in Bosnia, killing the four service members aboard, two from Spain and two from Germany, officials said. The cause of the crash near the north-central city of Banja Luka was not immediately known, but it was witnessed by a second Spanish military helicopter, Spain’s Defence Ministry said in Madrid...

Falcon to Buy 23 Jets, Helicopters. - June 21, 2008

Falcon Aviation Services has signed a lease finance facility of Dhs875m with Abu Dhabi National Leasing to acquire 23 additional corporate jets and helicopters. The acquisition will include Embraer Legacy 600, Gulfstream G450, Embraer Lineage 1000, Embraer Phenom 300, and GROB SPn while the helicopter orders include Agusta A109, and Eurocopter EC130.
