OK - called Vogelzang during a slow period at work (ie: all day) and got a replacement female damper collar on the way - they don't even need me to send back the extra male damper. Yay!Tel-Tru says my thermometer for the door shipped today, and that basically means that until we figure out how we're doing the handles, everything's bought.(OK, yeah, technically I also need to get a different middle grate, too, since the barrel can't -quiiiiiiiite- fit 3 11x22" grates abreast, but I imagine a...

While not much progress is being made on the smoker this weekend, I did remove the damper collars from the fire barrel and take it out to the back to burn off the oil within it as well.Once we A) finish all the cuts and such needed and B) figure out the rest of the required drilling, I think we should be able to take all of the various barrels and barrel bits to the self-service car wash and power wash the hell out of them.

Caught the last...oh, jeez...hour or so of Ronin while eating dinner with Alex. I keep forgetting how good that movie is. Alex saw just enough to get really confused - I found out he's never seen it.I am kinda tight on cash until payday, but when that comes around I ought to buy a copy of it again.

The first round went very well, I thought.I'll happily take Umberger over Cammalleri or Jokinen - we couldn't have paid the price for Jokinen, and Umberger fits our system better. (Plus, y'know, OSU grad, which I'm sure is going to be in about 50,000 places in the paper tomorrow, and the ads for tickets next season, the media guide, and my pants.)Filatov was the best player available, and has the talent to be really exciting - I doubt he makes the lineup next season, but an evaluation look of a.
