I strongly recommend keeping your desk (at least the part with your monitor on it) free-standing rather than building it on the treadmill itself; that'll keep vibrations caused by walking from reaching your monitor. I have a pretty simple keyboardmouse shelf which rests on my treadmill's handlebars; it is attached with industrial-strength velcro (available at home depot). I am expecting my treadmill (a Nordictrack C2155) to arrive at my own Massachusetts workplace on Tuesday of this week but don't have a desk ready for working on it.
