He recently had rods inserted into both femurs at which time bone biopsies were taken revealing MM. I have read some recent research linking the two. My husband was DX in late Feb. His MM bothering him for about 6 months now looking back. He had fatigue and anemia. He thought he was fighting the flu and when he got to the hospital his kidneys were not functioning properly and he had severe anemia. A Dr. that was going to do a kidney biopsy suggested a test for MM and it came back positive. We were devestated. Her Mspike at the time was 2.5. She had multiple fractures of her vertebrae (two separate kyphoplasty treatments..think she has seven treated vertebrae total)..and was being treated for severe osteoporosis. She never had protein in her urine..but her arthritis dr just felt there was something more..they ran that Mspike and all were surprised.
