I was just about to go the route of un-installing VS2008 (after re-installing SP1 twice, just like you did). So I just un-installed VB2008 and VC2008 express...which did the trick. All good now. !! I have tried to set the custom setting via control panel (have Document Image writer). But not able to specify the width size (No option for me to change size). !!
