futuregirl craft blogThe crafty adventures of futuregirl.Wait For It ...- September 16, 2008 There is nothing like a box of goodies to brighten the week. Angelina sent me this wonderful selection of fun stuff last week. Tiny notebooks, bath bombs, Soak, cutie keychains, stripey fabric, and a frame-worthy card ... enough to put a girl in heaven. But then she went ...... too ...... far ...She found this SEALED cross stitch kit at some sort of sale and picked it up for me. Can you believe it! Of course I had to open this baby up and marvel at the pre-sorted embroidery floss, gold...http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2008/9/wait-for-it.aspx Growing Like (Tiny-Tiny) Weeds- September 16, 2008 Apparently, berating your succulents is a sure way to get them to grow. My cactus have totally shot up in the last month. Although, for these Lilliputian plants, "shot up" means mere millimeters. I didn't kill any in the last month either. Maybe they are growing because of the last little summer we've been getting. It was in the 90's this weekend. Crazy!Five huge close-ups are on my Flickr with notes.http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2008/9/growing-like-tiny-tiny-weeds.aspx Lotsa Architectural Animals- September 11, 2008 I added a shilshl of architectural animal photos to my Flickr (the last 13 in the set). Aren't they incredible! When I went to add them to the ever-growing pile of stuff to put up on the craft wall, it almost seemed like I had more waiting than I actually had up on the wall. I did a little work getting stuff up last weekend, but I'm no where near done. Thank you for thinking of me, Marietta!Favorite Blogger AwardEddita picked me as one of her 7 favorite blogs. So sweet! As you can see by my links list.http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2008/9/link-fest-sept-3.aspx Denim Straps- September 2, 2008 Lynne emailed and asked about how I made my denim grocery bags. While I was answering her I realized I forgot to include something important in my post.No matter what your brain tells you, it's impossible to sew denim straps inside-out and then turn them right-side-out like you do with normal fabric. My brain kept telling me that the straps were totally wide enough to turn, so I didn't sew one and try it out first. I sewed all four before I realized my brain was a big dummy.Luckily, I use...http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2008/9/denim-straps.aspx A Collaboration Embroidery Project- September 1, 2008 I'm loving this three day weekend! I was able to finish up one of my A Collaboration pieces ... for Word 4 - Secrets. I wrote about my concept and posted more pictures (including a close-up of the owl) over on our site.I'm still two words behind, but that's OK because we've got fluid end dates (thank goodness!). I'm really enjoying doing this project with Stephanie of Ruby Crowned Kinglette. I can't believe we're already 3.5 months into our year!http://www.futuregirl.com/craft_blog/2008/9/a-collaboration-eEmbroidery-project.aspx |
