Comment by Ralph Wilson on As Data Breaches Continue to Mount, Are Regulations To Blame- July 18, 2008 Another aspect might be that everyone pretty much knows what kind of data companies are required to keep. Since that data has exist and, therefore, has to be somewhere in the system, someone who is wanting to pilfer the data also knows that the data not only must exist and be somewhere, but also that it has to be accessible by some means. That implies that all one has to do is identify the location and determine the access mechanism . . . because one doesn't have to determinehttp://networking.ittoolbox.com/r/rss.asp?url=http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/security-complia... Comment by Jose Jimenez on I know I had a laptop when I entered the airport...- July 16, 2008 according to a USAToday report, TSA has collected over $1 million in the last 3 years from passengers that forgot their coin at the scanners. I believe they get to keep it....just like your laptop. Someone should really lobby for a TSA retail store with ultra-low prices...I could use a new laptop! !! Comment by evangeline on I know I had a laptop when I entered the airport...- July 16, 2008 How exactly do you lose your laptop I don't get it - unless people just "forget" to pick it up after being scanned...or the person in front or behind you "steals" it from you but still that's a pretty brave thing to do. Hmm but hey stats are stats...so I guess that means if and when I travel through LAX, I'd better bring some sort of chain to tie it around my laptop...unless of course those are banned from the airports.... !! Comment by Tim Sutton on I know I had a laptop when I entered the airport...- July 15, 2008 I love going through those things! I have to fly up to Edinburgh almost every month for work and the look of shock on the security guards faces when I go through seven boxes trays for all my kit is fantastic! Especially when they check the rest of my bag and find a small toiletry bag, some clean underwear and a fresh shirt .... and that's it. Yes, this is indeed a bag of electronic equipment, mr. security guard. !!
