The axe has a slightly damaged socket, but is otherwise complete. The blade is slightly curved and flared. It tapers and thickens towards the socket. It has patches of orange corrosion, but mainly has a dark brown hue. It measures 193mm long x 101. 76mm wide x 31.37mm thick, weighing 1009g. The fitting is a rectangular loop (slightly distorted) with an expended outer edge on the front of the loop. The outer edge projects in the centre with an oval plate and a central pointed knop. The bell is complete, spherical in shape with a horizontal ridge running around the centre. The top half has a central sub-rectangular loop on top, with a circular perforation through it. There is also a hole either side of the loop, of one which is damaged, and a crack is present connecting this to the hole in the lower half. The mount is a disc with a raised rim and is decorated with five watch spring bosses. These are spaced evenly round a central setting which is now empty. Each boss is a pointed dome in deep relief, decorated with three spiral grooves. At the base of the domes, these grooves fork and expand forming trumpet shaped areas between them on the flat disc. It is circular with a central ridge on the reverse and the stub of the now missing lug with a perforation which would indicate the top of the seal. This is to help align the impression. The inscription is illegible and the obverse is a depiction of a praying figure in front of a chalice on an altar. The matrix has a brown hue with a light green patina, and measures 22.62mm diameter x 3.88mm, weighing 6.02g. Although the cast is modern, the original object from which the cast was taken has some similarities to Neolithic decorative objects. The object is 138.3mm long and 47.3mm in diameter. It is a very precise plaster cast of a cattle femur which was made in two pieces which have been glued together, allowing the detail from the inside of the hollow bone to be faithfully reproduced. The brooch is circular in plan, with six collared bosses spaced approximately equidistantly around the front. The bosses are devoid of decorative features, but other examples contain enamel or domed glass pellets. The brooch pin is missing, but would have been threaded through the perforation in the frame. Between the six collared bosses there is dotted decoration, consisting of two concentric rings running around the circumference of the frame.
