AttentionUPGRADE - The Mobile Web - November 21, 2007

Here's what has my attention today: the mobile web. When will my BlackBerry Curve work nicely for all the things I use my laptop for today Why can't I get flash video on my curve (Yes, I've heard of the iPhone). That's what's on my mind. Ease of use for mobility and more media support. ...Tags: curve web mobile mind iphone

One Laptop Per Child vs Asus Eee Notebook PC - November 21, 2007

Add to iTunes Add to YouTube Add to Google RSS Feed SWAT sometimes hangs out on Ventrilo with us, and even occasionally streams for me when I'm gone. He was wondering if he should go with the One Laptop Per Child(OLPC) program and help another child as well, or spend the same money and get better components for his daughter by buying the Asus Eeee. I just spoke with my friend David from EyeJot the other day about this same thing. In the terms of price and what you get, the Asus would be..

There is No Free Lunch - November 17, 2007

My mobile phone rang this week as I sat in the car rental bus at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. The Caller ID information read only "202." I get a lot of calls that say "unknown" or "restricted," but "202" was a new one for me. Recently at our home, we purchased a new laptop, which came with Vista on it. Sadly, it didn't come with Microsoft Office on it, and I was not able to open any word docs, excel, or powerpoints. I asked the store how much it would cost to add office, and they suggested in ...Tags: office powerpoints excel docs asked

The Moleskin & Other (Lesser) Notebooks - November 12, 2007

This time, I'd like to study another accessory of the geekinistas (or geekinistoswhatever): the notebook. While a laptop is, no doubt, the primary accessory, it's analog sibling, the notebook will pop-up sooner or later. There's just times when you need some paper and pen. Pen or Pencil Perhaps that's the first thing: pen or pencil. I have no ...Tags: pen notebook pencil accessory sooner

MicroMedia from BlogWorldExpo - November 9, 2007

I'm just using MicroMedia today because I don't want to haul my laptop around. Also, there are 1500 bloggers here, so I think they'll do a good job covering the event. This is the first year this event has been held, and with a turnout of 1500 says something about the industry. ...Tags: event micromedia year first held
