Comments on: Unobstructed HTTPSRobert Accettura's Personal Blog on Web Development and TechBy: LY- August 4, 2008 In response to Frank Hecker&8217;s July 19th post. This is not entirely true. Safari does support Startcom. The problem is actually with Startcom itself. Since they moved to the new startssl.com website, new free SSLs issued require browsers to have the new root certificate installed. Safari only has the old root cert. So old SSLs issued by startcom will be recognized but new ones won&8217;t. Until perhaps Apple includes the new root cert in future upgrades of Safari.http://robert.accettura.com/blog/2008/07/19/unobstructed-https/#comment-405588 |
