Camp Pendleton Marine killed in Afghanistan - July 2, 2008

Military officials say a 25-year-old Florida native was killed during his second combat assignment in Afghanistan.Staff Sgt. Christoper D. Strickland died in roadside bombing incident. Strickland was an ordnance disposal technician. However It's not clear if his death on June25,2008 was related to his job. Stickland was married with a 3 year old son.

As of today, June 30, 2008, at least 4,113 members of the U.S. military have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

Iraq PRT worker killed last week was reservist - July 2, 2008

Members of a Navy honor guard helped carry the casket of Navy reservist Steven Farley when it arrived Monday at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City. Farley, 57 years old was working for the State Department. His dead on June 24,2008, was confirmed by Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State. Farly was working with a Provincial Reconstruction Team trying to re-build and revitalize the war torn city of Sadr. A Bomb tore trough a building and 10 people were killed including four Americans.

William Allmon, age 25 years old, of Ardmore, Okla, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armer Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga Died April 12 in Baghdad of wound sustained wen vehicle encountered improvised explosive device. Marine dies in Afghanistan - July 1, 2008

A 22-year-old Richmond Marine described by friends as 'outgoing' and 'brave' was killed over the weekend while serving in Afghanistan.Lance Cpl Layton Bradly Crass, one of 4 marines from a united based at Twenty nine Palms, Calf. died after roadside bomb attack, in Helmand province, southwest Afghanistan. The assoiated press cited, the attack as the worst single attack on US or coalition forced in Afghanistan.
