Winter to Spring in Mag-2 cycle, for now In my weekend commentary, I made this comment re: the M-2 (Magnitude-2) cycle -- "A move above 420 on Monday morning would stem the Winter cycle for now." That's exactly what happened yesterday. The close at 422 and the overseas' markets strong performance overnight (up almost 2%) portends a strong opening. Greenspan's semi-annual 2-day report to Congress will be the headline grabber. Markets have found short-term relief from Iraqi war anxiety in the U-2.

Tuesday Test of 425 floor Tuesday morning the OEX fell a quick 10 points (about 2.5%) in the opening hour and found the floor of 425 by noon. The afternoon slowly rose from that floor to the 429 ceiling (Friday afternoon's floor). The S&P 100 is now below Mag-3's Spring glide path. A failure today to move and stay above 432 on Mag-2's day-ending turn from Winter to Spring would not be a positive sign. It would signal that the Winter trends of Mag 4 thru Mag 7 cycles are calling the shots, for..

Friday's ceiling is Monday's floor 434 was the cap on Friday's up move. Today, 434 was the floor and 438 became the new ceiling. Mag-2's Summer move, now 1.5 days old, turned to Autumn in the last hour of trading. Mag-3's Spring glide path is now 4 days old. Stocastic downturn today signals MACD convergence and OEX downturn.
