Performance Rights Act Active Again - June 30, 2008

The US House of Representatives pushed the "Performance Rights Act" (HR 4789) to the floor once again. This is similar to the Senate Bill S 2500 also titled the "Performance Rights Act" This is the act that attempts to charge performance royalties to broadcast radio stations for playing the works. The Radio stations are against this act because they are performing a service for the artists, producers and labels by promoting the music that, in turn, increases sales. Radio.
