Fettucine With Chicken Livers, Onions & Cremini Mushrooms - May 12, 2008

Fettucine with Sauteed Chicken Liver, Caramelized Onions and Cremini Mushrooms (Fetuccine con Fegatini de Pollo, Cipolle Caramellate e Funghi Cremini) Thisdish is stupendous! I had it a week before Passover & I could sure use it now! I had to shorten the name because of the computer. It was made with roasted garlic, caamelized onions, sauteed chicken livers and then the mushrooms with the wine, it was wonderful! It was served with a red wine, a salad of greens, and freshly baked bread. Of...

Irresistible Individual Chicken and Vegetable Pies - May 9, 2008

Experimented and made this recipe up based on combinations of recipes. Fabulous comfort food and also very pretty little pies! (This recipe makes 6 small individual pies or you can make a large one, recipe can also be easily halved to make less) -- posted by Donnalou86

This unbelievably rich tasting risotto has an intense, almost meaty flavor, but its fat allotment has been kept to a minimum. From "The Occasional Vegetarian" by Karen Lee. Serves 2 to 3 as a main course, 4 as a first course. -- posted by Epi Curious

Grilled Portobello Sandwich With Gouda and Red Pepper Aioli - May 7, 2008

We serve this at Micheal's Cafe in Duncannon, PA. It's an original creation by our late, great executive chef and name sake, Mike. It's by far my favorite item on the menu. I eat it nearly every day that I work. My recipe is my cheap-o take on his recipe. Their's is MUCH better. The red pepper aioli can be made and held in the refrigerator for a little while and it's really great on anything. I use the store bought pesto (Classico, in a jar near the pasta sauces) since I've never attempted to...

Wild Mushroom Bisque - May 7, 2008

My friends, Weetsie and Suzy, and I had lunch on December 20th, (my BD) at the Westin Canal Place. There are such gorgeous views there of the Mississippi River and the French Quarter. Chef Toups is one of Weetsies friends and he gave her this award-winning recipe, after we had the soup and could not stop raving about it. This is so decadently rich and wonderful. Youll want seconds, so beware. The recipe calls for a mixture of domestic, wild, and cultivated mushrooms, whatever is available,...
