Everytime I make it I always make it abit different. Sometimes I just do the cream cheese, sometimes I would add a small amount of jams with the cheese, but either way, it comes out great. The smell is incredible! I originally found the recipe in a coffeecake book that I have in my collection of books written by Lou Leibert Pappas. -- posted by Serb Girlhttp://www.recipezaar.com/312150 Down Home Black-Eyed Peas- July 5, 2008 Plain and simple comfort food. Not to mention very economical! Black eyes are one of my favorite things to grow in the garden. I think every Southerner knows you have to eat Black-eyes on New Years but we love them any day of the year. They make a fantastic meatless meal if you leave the bacon out or a meal with less meat with it in. These are amazing served with fresh sliced tomatoes and hot cornbread with melting butter. A heavenly meal for a Texan, a Southerner or anyone who can enjoy a meal.http://www.recipezaar.com/312147 Marinated Mushrooms- July 5, 2008 This recipe is from La Bonne Cuisine Cookbook. Its a great base. I usually start with this and add whatever else I have available like fresh herbs or chopped green onions, shallots, lemon zest Place in the refrigerator and let all the flavors soak in for a couple of hours. Great hors doeuvre! -- posted by Trinketshttp://www.recipezaar.com/312146 Yam Balls- July 5, 2008 This is a popular african snack, don't know where my mom got the recipe from, but it's very tasty, you could use ordinary potatoes instead of yam. They are traditionally made plain, but can be flavoured with vegetables, meat, fish or different spices, depending on your mood. ; ) -- posted by littlefarmgirlhttp://www.recipezaar.com/312142 Corn and Tomato Salsa- July 5, 2008 The corn takes centre stage in this wonderful, but simple salsa.
