Those not from around here may not realize there's plenty of open space within an hour's drive of the teeming Valley. We stayed three nights at the Costanoa resort and camp, and made it our base for short excursions. These included a run down to Santa Cruz to help an old friend move house, visiting Storrs Winery (grand noir and petite sirah) and Rhythm Fusion on the return.
