Fishing Reports

Paul's Fishing Reports

September 18, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

The fishing remained slow in the lower end today.  I jumped around from the lower end in am to the upper section mid morning and back to the lower end to finish the day.  The lower end had a few fish moving in the afternoon to save the day for us.  The lower fly zone had HEAVY fishing pressure today. A good source for Lake conditions tol me tonight that the pod of fish that was right in front of the mouth of the river had moved today..  (Big run in the am)  The water...

The fishing slowed today after the big run of fish yesterday. There were plenty of fish moving at first light and then a stead trickle of fish the rest of the day. The fish that came in on Sunday will be from the Ball Park thru RT 2A.  Today I had the pleasure of guiding 3 guys from the Georgia Pacific group. Jack, Mark, John and I had plenty of laughs today and a few fish too.  Above is jack with a nice King, He was the fearless Host of this crew.

Today there was a good push of fish thru the lower river. We landed a good number of Salmon but the highlight of the day was catching this Steelhead. Andrea came all the way from Ravenna Italy for this Silver Bullet, this one is going to be mounted for the wall back home. The Crowd's are coming in town for the big weekend and Pulaski is hopping tonight.

October 06, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

The fishing in the lower end has slowed down again the last two days.  The fish that came in over the weekend are from RT 2A to Pineville.  Salmon are starting to get on beds and have began to spawn.  There are quite a few Brown Trout scatted throughout the river, mostly in the upper section.  The Flyzone's are the main attraction for many fly anglers if the lower end doesn't have a good movement of fish in the am...

September 30, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

Fishing picked up in the lower river yesterday with a trickle of fish to keep everyone interested. Still lots of fish at the mouth of the river, Guides doing night time trips at the mouth are doing well there. Upriver the fishing is getting tougher with all the fishing pressure and fish being taken. The Upper and Lower Flyzones still have good numbers of fish in them. The most fish are from the Sportsmans Hole to Altmar and are spreadout. Fish are starting to get on Redds, try swinging Egg...

September 27, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

The fishing in the lower river still remains slow, there was a small movement of fish in the early morning. The best place to be is in the upper section of the river. There are good numbers of fish in spots with heavy fishing pressure also. The Flyzone's have good numbers of fish in them, but very crowded with people. There Biological clock will soon tell the fish they have to go up the river. But whenThe fish that were in 30-40 ft of water yesterday moved into 10-15ft of water and were jumping.

September 25, 2004 - (Found July 5, 2008 )

The fishing remains slow with know new numbers of fresh fish entering the river.  It doesn't help that the water tempature is 68 degrees at the mouth of the river or that we haven't had any rain in awhile.  There is alot of Salmon in 30-40 feet of water right of Selkirk State Park and the mouth of the Salmon river.  Most pools are holding fish but they are not moving out of them.  Did see a few beds and one Female Salmon we caught the other day was almost...
