Psalms 23:1 - November 26, 2003

"The Lord is my sheperd, I shall not be in want" -Psalms 23:1 When we find ourselves in situations in life where everything isn't going exactly as we planned it and there are so many things that we're sure we need, this verse is the promise that provides hope no matter what the circumstances. Just as sheep follow and trust their sheperd to provide for them, so should we trust that the Lord will provide for our every need. This is such a powerful truth and I have found so much comfort in simply.

1 Timothy 5:12 - November 26, 2003

"Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity."-1 Timothy 5:12 Age brings wisdom, but it's not a requirement for a strong faith and walk with the Lord. Some of the major religious revivals have come from college age people, so don't let others put down your beliefs because you are young, but don't argue with those that are older because we are supposed to respect our...

Colossians 3:23 - November 26, 2003

"Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." -Colossians 3:23 Never consider anything as just a trivial thing that doesn't require much effort, because your life and actions may be the only gospel that some people will ever see and the Lord can do miraculous things through the smallest things. You never know... a hug, a smile, or just a simple "hi" might be the first time in a long time that someone has reached out to a person...

1 Timothy 6:11b-12 - November 26, 2003

"Pursue a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for what we believe." -1 Timothy 6:11b-12 (NLT) At the end of my life I want to be able to say that "I fought the good fight... I wasn't always standing, but I was always fighting." There are so many times I stumble in my life. I am in no way a perfect Christian, but the important thing is getting back up and continuing your journey through life with the Lord at your side, because He'll never leave.

Ephesians 1:3 - November 26, 2003

"Blessed be the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ..." -Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV) How many times do I need to be reminded that the Lord has blest us so much I get caught up in what I don't have so much that I need to just stop and praise God for all that He's done in my life.

Galatians 2:20 - November 26, 2003

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." -Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) I've found in my own life that I often condemn myself for some of the things I've done and I occassionally have the view that "if the Lord knew what I did, He wouldn't forgive me," but He knows everything we do and sees us as being pure as Christ, and so freed us from the...

Luke 1:37 - November 26, 2003

"For with God nothing will be impossible." -Luke 1:37 (NKJV) So often we pray for the Lord to work in our lives and in the lives of those around us, but a lot of times we don't really expect for Him to answer our prayers, but we need to always remember that there is nothing that the Lord can't do.

Isaiah 6:8 - November 26, 2003

"I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send And who will go for us" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"" -Isaiah 6:8 It's not a question of whether or not the Lord is calling each of us to do missions, but rather a question of whether we'll listen to Him and say "Here am I. Send me!" Missions isn't a special calling someone recieves, but rather it's the calling of every Christian to "go and make disciples of all the nations". This doesn't mean that everyone should go off to Africa,.
