Republican Road Map to Discrimination - July 31, 2003

The Senate Republican leadership has published a 12 page road map actively advocating discrimination against gay and lesbian Americans. On Tuesday, the Republican Policy Committee issued the paper, titled "The Threat to Marriage from the Courts," which suggests the only way to prevent equal marriage rights for gays is through a constitutional amendment. The report was issued a day before President Bush announced he had lawyers busy seeking language to "codify" discrimination against gay and...

All Gay High School - July 28, 2003

As ridiculous as it sounds, the all gay Harvey Milk High School in NY will become a public high school this fall. The school has been running privately for over 20 years and has about 100 students. NY tax payers recently paid $3 million for renovations at the school, and the school expects enrollment to go up to 170 students. As a private entity, Harvey Milk likely serves an important safety net for those kids who either have no family support or can't seem to find anyone willing to stand up for.
