This Park has long been a dream of the South University Neighborhood and the University Neighborhoods Coalition (UNC). They are doing something amazing. Not only are they cleaning up a neglected riparian habitat, but they are also getting people excited by taking them out on the creek and showing them what a jewel (though trashed) we have running through our backyard. Last month the Friends put on a major restoration effort over a weekend where over 120 volunteers worked in the creek to remove a major raft of floating trash.
