Some of my experiences over the past 18 months: 1. Easier deployment. I've definitely seen this. However, the default behavior of VS.NET is to not produce signed assemblies. In addition, some of the things that you'd like to (need to) interoperate with (pre-longhorn) do not have what are called "primary interop assemblies".
