Short-sightedness and the laser: an end to glasses - June 20, 2002

Over the last few years, hundreds of thousands of people - mainly in the United States - have decided to have surgery enabling them to see properly without glasses. New techniques using a laser enable 80% of cases of short-sightedness to be cured, as well as certain forms of astigmatism and long-sightedness. The aim of the operation is to reshape the cornea.
