The Rosetta Mission: rendezvous with a comet... - March 2, 2004

If all goes well, the European probe Rosetta will go into orbit around the Churyumov-Gerasimenko comet in ten years' time. There, it is to release a small module, Philae, which will land on the comet nucleus and study its surface. It is an ambitious mission of a kind never before attempted.
