Tales from the Members Bar XXV - James Downey - April 29, 2008

James Downey is a peripatetic footballer. It is not that he is averse to settling down; it is just that life (and injury) have a way of stepping in to make things interesting. Earlier this year broke the habit of his professional life and signed a two-year extension to his contract with Northampton Saints

News: Saints finish with 81 0 result v Lanson - April 27, 2008

We all approached Franklins Gardens today with a forecast that promised to shine on all fronts. The champions elect needn&146;t actually bother turn up today and would still be awarded the National One trophy. CAB&146;s though had it all to do if they were to play in National One next season.

News: Northampton Saints vs Launceston: Preview - April 25, 2008

This Saturday Saint&146;s journey of recovery through National Division 1 comes to an end when they host the Cornish All Blacks at Franklin&146;s Gardens in the last game of the season. What a season it&146;s been! After the long slow and painful decline that culminated in relegation seeing saints win again has been a panacea for the supporters.

Thoughts from the Chron 240408 - April 24, 2008

With the season drawing to a close the Saints secured another five point victory on their last road trip in National Division One winning 40-22 at Newbury. That is not quite the whole story though as the plucky underdogs came back from the dead and very nearly gave the Saints a sizable bite on the backside.

News: A League Final: First Leg - Match Report - April 21, 2008

The Wanderers travelled to Henley on Monday evening to face Wasps "A" in the first leg of the Guinness A League Final. The Wandies had played their full allotment of matches to win the Northern section of the league whilst the Wasps babies had played about two and a half matches out of ten but still managed to finish top. Tales from the Members Bar 24 - Euan Murray - April 20, 2008

Filling in for the redoubtable OSB is not a task to be undertaken lightly, but I felt that, the club having been good enough to grant us access to the players, it would be a shame for the understudy to pass on the opportunity of producing a pale imitation of the column. I feel a little bit like Jay Leno producing Jeremy Clarkson&146;s Sunday Times piece, but here goes.

News: The Last Tycoons - Saints at Newbury - April 20, 2008

Big Jim was right to be wary of Newbury, but his team (still Saints, not yet England) failed to heed the warning. Saints strolled to a 21-0 lead in 30 minutes, then took their collective foot off the gas, and went in at half time lucky to be leading 21-17. What happened Your correspondent, Saint Dom, tells it how it was&133;

Thoughts from The Chron 17th April - April 17, 2008

At Twickenham on Saturday it was a case of Mission Accomplished Part Two as Saints secured the double in the 24-13 EDF Trophy win over Exeter Chiefs. The game was not a classic but given the route to the final it was a job well done for all concerned.
