She's been learning to ride with a friend from work who just happens to be a qualified riding instructor. Her horse got a bit pissed off today, though, and sort of flipped her sideways off his back. Apparently the horse then looked down at her, sprawled, winded, in the sand, with a look that said "what are you doing down there". She got away with a bit of a bruised arm, and Kelly made her get straight back on again. It's taken two months and much pestering, but he's coughed up. I was doubly relieved because I'd been preparing my "pay, or it's the Small Claims Court for you" speech for delivery this evening. I do prefer to avoid confrontation. I've been wanting to try Diplomacy (a game rather like Risk, but with no dice and lots of back-stabbing) for a while, but arranging to meet up with six other players has been a bit of a logistical difficulty. But it seems that play-by-email is a good way of playing it, so hopefully this will work. At first it was a woman and her young daughter who insisted on giggling inanely all the time, while the girl ran around and clambered over the seats.
