"Historic" Deal with CUT is bad for Bison - June 28, 2008

"The only historic announcement that Schweitzer and Lewis could possibly make is that they've killed more wild American buffalo than anyone since the 1800s," said Buffalo Field Campaign co-founder Mike Mease. According to information made public in recent months, CUT will be given more than $2.5 million in private and taxpayer money, in exchange for removing their cattle for 30 years and allowing twenty-five bison to temporary access to some Gallatin National Forest and CUT lands. These 25...

Time to CUT a deal - June 28, 2008

For hordes of Yellowstone bison, the difference between life and death is a herd of cattle on land owned by the Church Universal and Triumphant. Buying out the church's interests might just let the buffalo roam.

Releasing of the Buffalo Spirits Ceremony - June 28, 2008

Kneeling on a sagebrush flat pocked with the footprints of bison recently sent to slaughter from Yellowstone National Park, Lakota spiritual chief Arvol Looking Horse prayed for forgiveness. "When we first came upon the earth, we were the 'Buffalo People,'" Looking Horse said Tuesday, as a cold wind whipped off the Gallatin Mountains. "We must do what we can to protect the buffalo. Whatever happens to them, happens to us."

"We know that a lot (1,601 at April 17, 2008) of bison have been removed from the population this year through our risk-management actions or hunting, in addition to the normal winter kill," Nash said. "Holding pregnant cows reinforces our effort to conserve that population."

MT FWP Commission Plan: "We'll Kill 1000year" - June 28, 2008

Brenden said this is a Montana problem that needs to be solved by Montanans. His primary concern is not whether or not New York City hunters like the hunting in Montana. He questioned why the Commission feels the need to be so politically correct by proposing a hunt of 25 head. He said, "that's like doing nothing, probably we should kill 1,000", and he added that many people subscribe to that philosophy.

Yellowstone "lackeys" of MT Cattlemen - June 28, 2008

Washington, DC - Although it is the official symbol for the U.S. Department of Interior, the American bison is treated worse than any other species of wildlife in the national park system, according to Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER). This year, more than one in five members of the nation's largest remaining "free-roaming" herd, located within Yellowstone National Park, will be killed - by slaughter, hazing and maiming - as a result of federal action. Sport Hunting is a "Mental Disorder" - June 28, 2008

Here's a comment from Ted Nugent (has-been rock guitarist), the world's most outspoken hunter: "I contribute to the dead of winter and the moans of silence, blood trails are music to my ears. I'm a gut-pile addict. The pig didn't know I was there. It's my kick. I love shafting animals." Animal rights humanitarians are fed up with hunters, their government cronies and their sick mentalities who commit unrepentant violence against animals. Hunters hunt for the thrill of the kill. They receive a.
