But the biggest news for me was that they finally got that Visual Source Safe is just not enough for anything else than a toy project. They even have a JIT that translates PowerPC code on-the-fly to native x86 code. WOW !http://www.jroller.com/nil/entry/mac_os_x_10_3 Domain specific languages must die !- May 10, 2004 I not a great fan of domain specific languages, because programming language design is difficult ( if not we wouldn't have Perl ;) ) and DSL's tend to evolve into almost complete, but complicated programming languages. Debuggers and all the other tools that make programming easier, have to be implemented from scratch for DSL's, which is often not done. My favourite example for an unnecessary DSL is ANT, also it has in the meantime more tool support then most other DSL's.
